AAA Diamond Ratings

About AAA Diamonds …

AAA’s two-part Diamond Rating Process helps make each facet of your vacation exactly what you want it to be by providing guidance for your hotel and restaurant selections.

What makes AAA’s rating system so reliable? AAA member input and feedback … full-time, professional evaluators … strict quality standards … thousands of choices … up-to-date details … easy, 24/7 access. In addition, hotels do not pay any fees to become AAA Approved and Diamond rated, ensuring objective information and an ample selection.

AAA logo First, properties that meet and uphold AAA’s rigorous evaluation criteria, based on member expectations, earn the AAA Approved designation, providing travelers with quality assurance. Every AAA Approved establishment – listed in both the print and aaa.com TourBook® – provides acceptable quality for members.

Next, AAA’s professional evaluators assign each Approved hotel and restaurant a rating of one to five AAA Diamonds, indicating the level of complexity in service, décor, and amenities – from simple to luxurious. The Diamond rating descriptions vary for hotels and restaurants to fit the range of accommodation and dining experiences member travelers require.
