1981 - AAA's "Autograph" first issues in April 1981 with new car evaluations.



Supernumber 1982 - SUPERNUMBER, a toll-free telephone emergency service information launched nationally.




1984 - First AAA Auto Skills - Trouble-Shooting contest for high school auto mechanics held.




Audience image 1986 - During President Ronald Reagan's State of the Union Address, he honored Shelby L. Butler, St. Joseph MO, a recipient of AAA's school safety patrol life saving medal.


Road Atlas
1985 - AAA North American Road Atlas, produced in-house for the first time, went on sale at retail outlets in January and made The New York Times paperback best seller list 6 weeks later.

AAA SUPERNUMBER answered its one-millionth emergency service call.

- Fred Flintstone All-American Buckle Up campaign launched concurrently with national safety education campaign to promote belt use and child restraint use.
