1940 - AAA membership passed the one million mark.






Howdy Doody 1945 - Two-way radios for Roadside Assistance dispatch first used. (FCC granted permission to use two-way radio for this purpose.)

- Developed new driving program to aid wounded veterans.

1941 - AAA started "Keep 'em Rolling" campaign - conservation program to keep passenger cars in service.







1948 - AAA Travel Agency Services offered the first escorted tours.
