
1914 - Auto Club of Southern California began transcontinental highway signing project, erecting 4,000 road signs between Los Angeles and Kansas City to designate the National Old Trails route.





1917 - First AAA hotel directory issued as a single publication.

1915 - Auto Club of Missouri provided the first Roadside Assistance. Men on Motorcycles went to assistance of motorists.








1916 - First Federal-Aid highway act: AAA sponsored Good Roads Bill which was passed by Congress and signed by President Woodrow Wilson.






1920 - School Safety Patrol pioneered by Chicago Motor Club.
